I'm a comedian, improviser, director, writer, and clown. Yes, clown. Stick with me.
I've toured internationally as clown emcee of Spiegelworld's Empire, performed with Blue Man Group, and I'm a Cirque du Soleil performer database member. I've performed at Coachella and Lightning in a Bottle, which are sentences I still enjoy saying out loud.
I'm a founding member of The Innocents clown troupe, and a member of two Hollywood Fringe award-winning companies: Wet the Hippo and Four Clowns. I was also part of DJ Faucet, the Del Close Award-winning mainstage iO sketch team that performed at Chicago Sketchfest and San Francisco Sketchfest. My sketches have shown up on Funny Or Die, Huffington Post, and Comedy Cake.
Roles I've originated that I'm particularly proud of: Butterbeans Arbuckle in Four Clowns' The Halfwits Last Hurrah (Fringe Award, Best in Physical Theater, 2015), Noah in Four Clowns' Noah, and Captain Buck in Wild Space A Go Go — a 60s space sex farce, which is exactly what it sounds like.
I've studied clown with Sue Morrison, Avner Eisenberg, Eric Davis, John Gilkey, David Bridel, Daniel Passer, Paola Coletto, and Aitor Basauri. I've trained at Tim Robbins' Actors Gang and studied comedy at UCB Advanced Study, Improv Olympic, and Second City.
These days I also teach sketch comedy writing and improvisation at the largest tech companies in Silicon Valley. The clown training turns out to be directly relevant.
